BEHOLDING THE SAVIOR WITHIN US

BEHOLDING THE SAVIOR WITHIN US

When we arrived on planet earth, we didn’t know we were born dead in sin, separated from the Life of God within us. We weren’t aware someone was missing inside of us to love us unconditionally and give our lives meaning and purpose. We didn’t know we weren’t created to fend for ourselves, to strive and struggle to make things happen in our world, or try to control all the outcomes in our own strength. However, we were aware of our fears, anxieties, worries, anger, mean thoughts, and feelings that could overtake our behavior at any given moment. We also were aware of how we and others could be cruel, divisive, controlling, manipulative, and hateful, sometimes with no apparent reason. Something in us was wrong and broken; we eventually recognized it and tried to fix it. Do you remember all of those Self-Help books we read to try to change us on the inside? Even the 10 Steps Christian books to overcome ——-, you name it. In spite of all of our diligence, we still had those awful thoughts and behaviors which manifested themselves when we were under stress or faced with circumstances out of our control. Darkness and the fear of death always loomed inside of us. But thank you, Father, You came to our rescue by sending our Savior Jesus Christ!

Therefore, just as SIN came into the world through one man (Adam), and death through SIN, so death spread to ALL people [no one being able to stop it or escape its power] because they all sinned. Roman 5:12 (Amplified)

Because Sin entered the heart of every human being, we all were under his control and power, to lie, cheat, be proud, arrogant, unforgiving, and greatest of all to kill, steal, and destroy everyone and everything in our paths we didn’t approve of. And, no matter how we tried to get rid of Sin, our efforts were futile.

Throughout the Old Testament, the nation of Israel was bombarded by Sin within and without.  The Law was given by Moses to reveal how wicked they were, but no matter how many sacrifices they made with sheep, goats, and other animals, Sin was never eradicated, only covered over until the next year. The enemy of their souls and the enemies around them tried to take them captive and destroy them. They cried out for Yeshua, a Savior, Deliverer, Protector, one who would keep them Safe.

I Chronicles 16:35 – Then say, “Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together and rescue us from the nations, That we may give thanks to Your holy name, And glory in Your praise.”

Psalm 27: 1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation—Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the refuge and fortress of my life—Whom shall I dread?

Even though our brother was a King, David understood that only one person could save him from his Sin, fears, anxieties, behaviors, and protect him from his enemies…Yeshua!

The prophet, Jeremiah, foretold of a day coming; “In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called:   The Lord Our Righteous Savior. Jeremiah 33:16 NIV

Thousands of years passed, then finally the Savior of the world appeared in the body and person of Jesus Christ.  When the angel told Mary she was going to be impregnated by the Holy Spirit, Mary said, “My spirit rejoices in God My Savior.”  The word Mary used is very interesting; it was soter. She called Jesus, her preserver, the one who gives Life and breath to all things. Mary understood Jesus was coming into the world not to protect her from her enemies but to do something far greater, and it was; to bring Israel to repentance (change their mind and heart about sin) and to forgive all of their sins. (Acts 5:31) He came to change our minds about sin, the flesh, and the evil one, our enemies who come to imprison us and keep us bound.

Today and always let’s Behold, means to fix our eyes upon; to give great attention to, and to observe with care.

Let’s Behold Him, Jesus the Savior of Our World, the One who lives within us! He is the One who forgave ALL of our sins and who lives within us to remove the darkness from our souls and lives. Let’s open up our minds, emotions, feelings, and will to Him so He can cleanse us and free us from all darkness, fleshly thoughts, and behaviors hindering Him from living His Perfect Life in and through us!

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
WE WELCOME A NEW AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

Enjoy Christ, Enjoy Life!
