IS GOD MAD AT US SO HE SENT THE CORONAVIRUS?

I don’t know about you but I received a message via text stating, “God sent plagues in the land of Egypt years ago as judgment and today He is sending the Coronavirus to judge us.” The message went on to say, “Because men worship sports, money, and other things more than God; He is tired of it and using the virus making them turn to Him instead.”

Finally, it ended with the scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14 “And My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. (Amplified).  This scripture was taken out of context. It was written under the Old Covenant to Israel as they dedicated Solomon’s Temple to God and had made sacrifices to atone for their sins. The Old Testament was fulfilled and ended with the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. It was never intended to be applied to New Covenant believers, HIS PEOPLE, of which Jesus’ blood was shed for the sins of the whole world… ALL of our sins have been forgiven!

What do you think about this message? Many preachers and teachers are stating how the whole world is under God’s judgment. Is this true? Of course, the whole world is chaotic, lost, hopeless, and in fear but our Father is here in the midst of it all.

Well, let’s see what the scriptures say about the judgment of God.

1 Peter 3:18 (Amplified)

For indeed Christ died for sins ONCE FOR ALL, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the Innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit.

Romans 5: 6-17 (Amplified)

6 While we were still helpless [powerless to provide for our salvation], at the right time CHRIST DIED [as a substitute] for the ungodly.

Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man [one who is noble and selfless and worthy] someone might even dare to die.

8 But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US

9 Therefore, since we have now been justified [declared free of the guilt of sin] by HIS BLOOD, [how much more certain is it that] we will be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

10 For if while we were enemies we were RECONCILED TO GOD through the death of His Son, it is much more certain, having been reconciled, that we will be saved [from the consequences of sin] by His life [that is, we will be saved because Christ lives today].

11 Not only that, but we also rejoice in God [rejoicing in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received and enjoy our reconciliation [with God].

12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all people [no one being able to stop it or escape its power] because they all sinned.

13 Sin was in the world before the Law [was given], but sin is not charged when there is no law [against it].

ADAM’S SIN OPENED THE DOOR TO, DISEASE, CHAOS, FEAR, AND DESTRUCTION

14 Yet DEATH RULED [over mankind] from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type of Him (Christ) who was to come. (Disease, earthquakes, sickness, depravity, fear, killing, etc. have been here since Adam sinned.)

CHRIST BROUGHT LIFE AND SALVATION

15 But the FREE GIFT [of God] is not like the trespass [because the gift of grace overwhelms the fall of man]. For if many died by one man’s trespass [Adam’s sin], much more [abundantly] did God’s grace and the gift [that comes] by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to [benefit] the many.

16 Nor is the gift [of grace] like that which came through the one who sinned. For, on the one hand, the judgment [following the sin] resulted from one trespass and brought condemnation, but on the other hand, the free gift resulted from many trespasses and brought justification.

17 For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), DEATH REIGNED through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who RECEIVE THE ABUNDANCE OF GRACE AND THE FREE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS REIGN IN (ETERNAL) LIFE THROUGH THE ONE, JESUS CHRIST.

JESUS’ OWN WORDS TO US

  • DON’T FORGET – “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [PERFECT] PEACE. In the (fallen, wicked, and sinful) world you will have tribulation, distress, and suffering but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33 (Amplified)

  • “The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy you. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 (Amplified)

The conclusion of the matter is… Our Father loves us and wishes that not one of us perish, be in pain, suffer loss, or live in fear, that’s why He sent His only Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to take our punishment for the guilt of sin, we deserve. Now, in Christ we can find rest and peace from the destruction and collapse of all that is happening to us… HE IS EVERYTHING WE NEED! RECEIVE CHRIST THIS PERFECT GIFT!

ALWAYS REMEMBER

For God did not send His Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the (whole) world might be saved through Him. John 3:17 (Amplified Bible)
