WE REMEMBER THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES
In the Bible, the word remember is used over 200 times. It means to mark as to recognize, record, and make mention. Our Father knows as time passes between various events in our lives, we naturally forget about them and the wonders He had done. So, when the children of Israel went through difficulties in their lives and God brought them through, He always told them to place a pillar or a stone to mark or commemorate the victories He had accomplished. Even though the Bible captures many miraculous feats in the lives of His children, here are two:
The first one is found in Genesis 28:10-22, when Jacob set a pillar in Bethel to commemorate a powerful vision of God and the angels on a ladder descending and ascending to heaven.
The second one was in Joshua 4:1-8 when God commanded the Israelites to cross the Jordan River, which He miraculously stopped the waters from flowing. Joshua led the 12 Tribes of Israel to dry ground into the Promised Land to Gilgal. God told Joshua to erect 12 stones to memorialize God’s love and miraculous powers toward them.
Like our forefathers who set aside a time of remembrance, we will do so on Monday. On the last Monday of May, we remember the lives lost due to war by celebrating Memorial Day. Memorial Day was first enacted after the Civil War. This day is set aside to honor and mourn American military personnel who died while performing their duties in service to the United States Armed Forces. We remember those who gave their lives and millions of families impacted by their sacrifices in these wars.

We thank those men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice by laying down their lives for us.
Jesus said, “No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you. 15I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father.” John 15:13-15 Amplified
Thank you, Jesus, for paying the ultimate sacrifice for our eternal freedom and by giving us Your life!
JESUS GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US, THEN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US, SO HE CAN LIVE HIS LIFE THROUGH US!
Enjoy Christ, Enjoy (ZOE) His Life
