JESUS OUR TRUE IDENTITY PART 3
JESUS OUR TRUE IDENTITY PART 3
“The Faithful One”
As you recall from our last week’s blog, we learned that our Father and Lord are ‘Good.’ Everything they do, no matter whether we understand, whether we concur, or whether we like the outcome, their character is ‘Good.’ We also learned, the Lord doesn’t work according to our timetable or the way we would handle life’s circumstances because He doesn’t operate in time but from an eternal vantage point of view. Because God is infinitely ‘Good’ the REAL US in Christ is ‘Good.’ The DNA of the NEW CREATURE, recreated in the image of our Father, agrees with our Lord and Father, “No matter what circumstances He allows to touch our lives, He will work it all out for the ‘Good’ (for His Purpose and for His Pleasure).” When we truly come into agreement with our Father’s will, our soul will say, “Well, Amen!” “You will use this pain, suffering, confusion, loss, grief, anguish, misunderstanding, etc. for the Good.”
For this week’s blog, a movie came to mind I really enjoyed called ‘Hachi: A Dog’s Tale.’ In the story, Richard Gere plays the master of the dog, he named Hachi. Hachi found him and wanted him as his master, but his wife did not want him to keep the dog. As it turns out, he bonded with the dog and kept him. It was a beautiful relationship between a master and his dog. The dog, Hachi, when he heard the sound of the train whistle blowing was too young to jump the fence, dug a hole underneath the fence to run to meet his master after work at the train station. So, his master filled the holes around the fence. When he got older, he jumped the fence to run to meet his master at the train station. Rain or shine, there he was sitting at the train station waiting for his master. One day, his master had a heart attack and died so he didn’t get off the train, but Hachi sat there eagerly waiting for him. Eventually, the wife moved away and the daughter moved Hachi with her to the other side of town. When Hachi heard the sound of the whistle blowing, he ran to the train station and sat waiting for his master to get off the train. The movie ends with Hachi, old and gray, still waiting at the train station for his master to return from work until the day he died. They erected a statue in his honor at the train station. What a faithful dog! No matter what, he was there; no matter if he understood the circumstances or not why his master did not return to him, he remained faithful.
When considering this movie from a deeper level, it reminds me of Jesus. The character, the nature of Jesus is ‘Faithful.’
Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (Amplified) “For I proclaim the name of the Lord; Ascribe greatness and honor to our God! The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of FAITHFULNESS without iniquity (injustice), Just and upright is He.”
How many times have we gone astray, sinned, made decisions independent of the Lord, or chose paths to our own demise?
Who remained Faithful to us when we weren’t faithful to Him?
Who was there for us when everyone left us or turned their backs on us?
Who stood by us when we were misunderstood?
Who came to our rescue when we fell and picked us up when we felt we would never recover?
When we felt betrayed by someone we trusted and thought we could always count on, who comforted us during those dark times?
Who dried the tears from our eyes and healed our broken hearts or healed our sick bodies?
When our loved ones went astray, who encouraged us to entrust them to Him?
When we lost someone close to our heart and we felt we couldn’t go on without them, who became our courage and hope to breathe another day?
Who held us in the night when loneliness wanted to drive us to sin, who was there?
When fear gripped our soul and we felt depression would imprison us forever, who protected our mind from the evil one so he wouldn’t overtake us?
Who sustains us each day at work, in our homes, at school, and in life?
HIS PROMISES
Who promised you, “Even when your mother and father forsake you, I will take care of you.” Psalm 27:10
Who promised you, “I will be with you ALWAYS even until the end of time.” Matthew 28:20
Who promised you, “I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you, no NEVER.” Hebrews 13:5
Who promised you, “Even though you may be faithless, I will always be faithful to you.” 2 Timothy 2:13
Who promised you, “I HAVE YOU in my hands and no one can pluck you out of them.” John 10:28
Numbers 23:19 states, “God is NOT a man that He should lie.” Man’s words to us can change based on their circumstances. How many of us had to cancel an appointment because we were sick or something else interfered with our plans? Or, we promised to do something for someone or meet someone but we forgot. These situations happen to all of us because we are finite human beings. But, our Father and Lord are not like us, they are ALWAYS FAITHFUL BECAUSE THEY ARE INFINITELY FAITHFUL! They keep their words, they keep their promises, and they do whatever they say they will do.
Our Father and Lord are ‘Faithful.’ The REAL US, like our Father, is ‘Faithful,’ we are trustworthy, believers of His promises to us. We can be counted on to keep our words as we allow our Lord to live through us. He is ‘Faithful’ in us and doing through us all the Father longs for, as we yield to Him each moment of the day. We rest in His promise that “He is causing ALL THINGS in our lives to work for THE GOOD, according to His Purposes and Plans.” Yes, we believe!
Prayer: Papa, thank you, Jesus remains ‘Faithful’ in my life even if I choose not to be. You recreated me in your image I am just like you ‘Faithful and True.’ I yield to the truth of who I am. I look away from doubt and fear into your face of FAITHFULNESS AND TRUTH each day. AMEN
