HEAVEN SERENADES: I Came For That One

HEAVEN SERENADES: I Came For That One

(Heaven Serenades are poems that could be read or sung, called Psalms)

We are so blessed by our Lord in so many wonderful ways, right? But sometimes, if we aren’t careful, because we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ, material wealth, such as homes, cars, money, and jobs, we can become insensitive to the needs of those who are less fortunate. It is so easy to forget why Jesus died; to save, heal, and care for broken humanity.

Our last blog was a wake-up call to the Children of God/ The Body of Christ to remember whose we are and why we are here. Today’s blog is just a gentle reminder of why Jesus came and our amazing purpose on the earth.

FOR THAT ONE

For the One lost sheep who can’t find its way.

For the One lonely heart who is going astray.

For the One broken soul who has lost their all.

For the One rebellious child who is about to fall.

I came, I came, I came, for that One.

For the One prodigal son who is marred with sin.

For the One hurting soul feeling lost within.

For the One grieving widower who has lost his direction.

For the One lonely widow needing our Father’s protection.

I came, I came, I came, for that One.

For the One Homeless person who can’t find a place to live.

For the One Homeless person who has nothing left to give.

For the One  Homeless person who can’t stay warm in the cold.

For the One Homeless family who has lost their all, even their souls.

I came, I came, I came for that One.

Chorus

Not for the multitudes, not for name or fame.

Not for pomp and circumstance or self-acclaim.

I came, I came, I came, for that One.

For the One hopeless minister who struggles with sin.

For the One discouraged soul just needing a friend.

For the One despondent family who is in despair.

For the One divorced person who feels no one cares.

I came, I came, I came, for that One.

Chorus

Not for the multitudes, not for name or fame.

Not for pomp and circumstance or self-acclaim.

I came, I came, I came, for that One.

10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10 (NIV)

12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, “They that be whole need, not a physician, but they that are sick.” Matthew 9:12

 35 Jesus said, “I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat;

I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;

I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

36 I was naked, and you clothed Me;

I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care];

I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].”

37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 The King will answer and say to them,

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ Matthew 25:30 (Amplified)
