ETERNAL DEATH OR ETERNAL LIFE
The other day I was reflecting on how our Father created us in His image. We were created in our Father’s image, as He is, spirits. He created us with a soul which consists of our thoughts, emotions, personalities, and wills to choose. Also, to live in the earth, He created us to live in bodies – our earth-suits. Because we were created as spirits, like Him, we will live forever; we will always exist. For some, existing may be in His Life and others eternal darkness…spirits live forever!
Because of man’s sin in the Garden, his spirit died, which means he was no longer able to enjoy the very Life and intimacy with God. Man chose eternal death when he ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Jesus came to restore to man, His Eternal Life, and intimacy with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Death is defined as the absence of Life and Light. John, Chapter 1, in the Amplified version of the Bible gives us more clarity.
John 1:1-5 – In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him, and without Him, not even one thing was made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life [and the power to bestow life], and the Life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].
Because of man’s sin and disobedience, we were all born spiritually dead, without Life and Spiritual Light, even though we were alive walking, breathing, and communicating.
Romans 5:14 – Yet death ruled [over mankind] from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type of Him (Christ) who was to come [but in reverse—Adam brought destruction, Christ brought salvation]. (Amplified)
I Corinthians 15:45 – So it is written [in Scripture], “The first man, Adam, became a living soul (an individual);” the last Adam (Christ) became a Life-Giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. (Amplified)
Jesus came to Restore Our Dead Spirit, Soul, and Bodies to Life Again! Thank you, Jesus Christ!
Now, In Him, We Live and Move and Have Our Being as we first did when we were created In Him, from the beginning.
We will live forever, whether in His Heavenly Kingdom with our Lord or in eternal damnation with the enemy! But, thank you, Jesus, we can choose Him and Live In Him forever!
Enjoy Life and Enjoy Him!
