IN HIM – OUR NEW ADDRESS Part 1

IN HIM – OUR NEW ADDRESS Part 1

Have you ever felt like you weren’t good enough, pretty enough, or smart enough? And no matter what you did to try to change you, those feelings underneath the surface still lingered. The messages we received from our family, friends, teachers, television, movies, and even ourselves remind us of how flawed we are. So what do we do? We began comparing ourselves to each other, saying, “At least I am not as bad off as… or I am smarter than… or I am better off than.” We may not say those words out loud but our thoughts and actions sometimes reflect this. It is so sad, but we were all born flawed! We were all born with feelings of deep inadequacies. Those deep feelings drive us to try to be better, look better, or act better, but in some areas, we still come up short. Where did these feelings come from? I am so glad you asked. They came from a man and a woman who weren’t content being loved and cared for by a Father who longed to care for and protect them. They weren’t satisfied with having everything they could ever want and need…they wanted more. Adam and Eve’s sin of independence left us all naked of Godly Contentment, striving, and struggling for more and more. We are never satisfied! We live discontented in a world that says to us, “You can have it ALL;” no matter what ALL is, still we are never satisfied. Tresca, how do I find contentment and satisfaction? I will be happy to tell you but are you willing to leave your old bags behind and move to a New Address?

What we have to offer to our Father will never be good enough! Sin and flesh have marred our lives forever.

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all people [no one being able to stop it or escape its power] because they all sinned. 13 Sin was [committed] in the world before the Law [was given], but sin is not charged [against anyone] when there is no law [against it]. 14 Yet death ruled [over mankind] from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type of Him (Christ) who was to come [but in reverse—Adam brought destruction, Christ brought salvation]. Romans 5:12-14 (Amplified)

How can we escape the discontentment and dissatisfaction of our souls?  Let’s rejoice, Our Father and Jesus had an Amazing solution… bring us home to live with them in the Kingdom of God with them, HERE AND NOW!

So, then as through one trespass [Adam’s sin], there resulted in condemnation for ALL men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted in justification of life to all men. 19 For just as through one man’s disobedience [his failure to hear, his carelessness] the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of the one Man…

The many will be made Righteous and Acceptable to God and brought into right standing with Him. Romans 5:18-19 (Amplified)

For all of us who receive the Father’s precious gift (Jesus Christ) into our hearts, we are moved into a Brand New Kingdom and Address!

For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty].  Colossians 1:13-14

If our Father has moved us to a New Address, then why are we still discontented, dissatisfied, and not feeling good enough? Only one reason, we don’t believe the TRUTH He speaks to us so we haven’t left our OLD BAGS behind. Jesus promised, knowing and experiencing Him, THE TRUTH, WE ARE IN HIM, WILL SET US FREE.

In the next blog, I will remind us of the TRUTH found in His word and the deep inadequacies we feel so we can decide to HOLD to our bags or leave them behind.

Enjoy Christ and Enjoy Life!
