When we look around and see COVID-19 getting worse rather than better, we also witness the devastation and calamities of life all around us like never before. We can feel overwhelmed or hopeless and want to give up. The suicide rate has skyrocketed with people feeling depressed and can\u2019t see a way out. I have heard of many believers turning away from the Lord they once loved; it makes me so sad. So, today I want to share a passage of scripture written by our brother Paul as he poured out his heart to his son-in-the-faith, Timothy, in 2 Timothy Chapter 3 of the Amplified Bible.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Difficult Times Will Come<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

But understand this, Timothy,<\/em> that in the last days, dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come<\/strong> [difficult days that will be hard to bear].\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0profane,\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>[and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good,\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God,\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0keep far away from them.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

6\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate\u00a0morally<\/em>\u00a0weak\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses,\u00a07\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>always learning\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

8\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Just as Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these\u00a0men<\/em>\u00a0also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith.\u00a09\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>But they will not get very far, for their meaningless nonsense\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as was that of Jannes and Jambres.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n

10\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Now you have diligently followed [my example, that is] my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,\u00a011\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>persecutions, and sufferings\u2014such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, but the Lord rescued me from them all!\u00a012\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Indeed, all who delight in pursuing righteousness\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0are determined to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be hunted\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0persecuted [because of their faith].\u00a013\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

14\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding tightly to the truths], knowing from whom you learned\u00a0them<\/em>,\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings (Hebrew Scriptures) which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus [surrendering your entire self to Him and having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness].\u00a016\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God\u2019s will, both publicly and privately\u2014behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage];\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>so that the\u00a0man of God may be complete\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0proficient, outfitted\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0thoroughly equipped for every good work.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Times of Troubles Come, David Said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Psalm 27:5 <\/strong>– My Lord will Hide Me\u2026 because I trust and rest in His Loving Arms.<\/p>\n

Psalm 41:1<\/strong> – My Lord will Save Me\u2026 because I am His FOREVER.<\/p>\n

Psalm 50:15<\/strong> – My Lord will Rescue Me\u2026because I belong to Him.<\/p>\n

Psalm 86:7 <\/strong>– My Lord will Answer Me\u2026 because He always hears my prayers.<\/p>\n

In times of trouble, we will behold the Lord within us; He sits on the throne of our hearts<\/strong>. He is our peace and safety in the midst of the devastation around us.<\/p>\n
