{"id":2896,"date":"2020-03-14T15:34:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-14T15:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/?p=2896"},"modified":"2020-03-14T15:34:27","modified_gmt":"2020-03-14T15:34:27","slug":"our-search-begins-and-ends-in-christ-within","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/our-search-begins-and-ends-in-christ-within\/","title":{"rendered":"OUR SEARCH BEGINS AND ENDS IN CHRIST\u2026 WITHIN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>First Posted November 2017<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In today\u2019s blog, I want to reflect on the meaning of Life.\nMany of us have read and heard this message before, however, when I get new\nreaders, I want to remind them of who they are and why they were created by such\na loving and amazing Heavenly Father!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Our lives begin and end with a search for Truth and meaning. Our Father put this thirst and hunger for Himself <em>within<\/em> us. As we have discussed in previous blogs, we spend a lifetime trying to experience fullness and completeness. It appears nothing and no one can satisfy us. For this reason, we spend a million moments, a million dollars, and a million heartbreaks trying to quench this thirst and fill this hunger of our souls. St. Augustine, an African Priest, wrote this confession centuries ago as he described his search for Truth and Life.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2897\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth-480x270.jpg 480w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/searching-for-Truth.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>In his desperate search, He confessed, \u201cFather, The light I saw was\u00a0<\/em><em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0the common light at all, but something different, utterly &#8230;\u00a0<\/em><em><strong>You were within<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>me<\/strong><em>, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I wrote a song in 2005 which expresses my same sentiments as St. Augustine and mine too.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE SONG OF ST. Grannum<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Lord, I went wandering like a stray sheep<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Seeking you with anxious reasoning weighted within me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I wearied myself, in looking for You without<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yet, You had Your habitation, Your dwelling place within me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here You are abiding so sweetly within me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here You are my fortress, my Lord, my strong tower<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Here You are living in Your glorious, majestic kingdom<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Living Your holy life in and through me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If only I had desired You and panted after You<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I went around the streets and squares of the cities<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Of this world and in this world, I found you not<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Because in vain I sought for you without and You were within.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">No worldly wisdom, carnal pleasures, or money or fame<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Can fill the canyons of my soul where my Lord and Father dwell<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Within me, yes nobly within me<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Like most of us, St. Augustine was searching for God to be <em>without (outside of him). <\/em>So he feasted on books, thousands of books. He thought God was in doing, so he worked hard to please God. He thought God was in ministry, so he was zealous in all of his works <em>for God<\/em>. He thought God was in fellowship, so He spent all of his life being faithful in his relationships with his brothers and sisters in Christ day in and out. St. Augustine longed to know the God and Father of the Universe. He strived to be the best man he could be and do all he could do to please God, to little avail. Then, one day in his search, he began to see the <em>Light of Christ flickering in his soul<\/em>. As he began to turn inwardly to still himself and behold the Light, he witnessed a beautiful change in his heart and soul. It wasn\u2019t because of all of his efforts, it was because he turned from <em>external things<\/em> and began to behold the Lord who sat and waited patiently in his soul <em>within<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you have read any of my blogs, my focus is always trying to help you discover the beautiful Lord Jesus, Father, and Holy Spirit living <em>within us and the Amazing Kingdom <\/em>that is ours 24 hours a day. What a sad and awful ending to a life, wasted, never experiencing or seeing <em>the Kingdom of God<\/em> Jesus placed in our hearts when we gave our lives to Him. We come to the end of our journey and all we gained was just knowledge of, glimpses of, and knowing about Him.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"474\" height=\"244\" src=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/The-Kingdom-Of-God-Is-474x244-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2898\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/The-Kingdom-Of-God-Is-474x244-1.png 474w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/The-Kingdom-Of-God-Is-474x244-1-300x154.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br \/>Paul prayed for the Ephesians 1:18 in the Amplified Bible, he said:<\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit] so that <u>you will know<\/u>\u00a0and\u00a0cherish the\u00a0hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance <strong>IN<\/strong> the\u00a0saints (God\u2019s people).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer<\/strong>: Father, thank you for HOME <em>within me<\/em>. I can turn inwardly every second of the day to gaze into your beautiful face and grace.
