{"id":2159,"date":"2019-12-07T15:55:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-07T15:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/?p=2159"},"modified":"2019-12-07T15:55:49","modified_gmt":"2019-12-07T15:55:49","slug":"unto-us-a-child-is-born-unto-us-a-son-is-given","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/unto-us-a-child-is-born-unto-us-a-son-is-given\/","title":{"rendered":"UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN\u2026 UNTO US A SON IS GIVEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. <\/em><strong>Isaiah 9:6-7 Amplified<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>I just love this season of the year when we reflect on this beautiful truth concerning the birth and life of our Lord. History testifies Jesus wasn\u2019t born in December as most of us might know but possibly in September or the springtime when the shepherds led their flock out to pasture to feed upon the lush green grass. But whatever month or time it really was, I am so grateful that the King of Glory, the Mighty God, and the Prince of Peace came into our planet and was <em>born <\/em>and also was <em>given<\/em>. I have never really meditated on the two verbs, <em>born and given,<\/em> which are quite different and yet in the plan of God our Father, both were necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=2160\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2160\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2160\" src=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Born.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"486\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Born.jpg 486w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Born-300x276.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Born-294x270.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus the Son of Man \u201cBorn\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Lord Jesus came into the world not of noble birth but as a lowly baby <em>born<\/em> in a stable. His mother, Mary, laid Him in a manger or trough used to feed livestock; there He slept. In Jesus\u2019s stable, where domestic animals slept, and ate, it was covered in <em>manure<\/em>. Besides a ditch, it was a place where the lost, homeless, bandits, and ruthless hid out. Why would God choose to be born in such a detestable place you may ask? The answer is FOR US! Jesus came to identify with all of our humanity from the least to the greatest; He came to us as a God who was approachable by all! Unlike the God of the Old Testament, only a few human beings could converse and have a relationship with God Almighty and live. But here, He was a fragile baby, clothed in humanity to become vulnerable so He could identify with us and we could identify with Him in our human experience in this dark and lost world.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jesus was <em>born<\/em> as a child to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet us where we live, no matter our status, race, or intellectual abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Understand through our experiences what life in this world really feels like.<\/li>\n<li>Connect with us in a more intimate sense than in the Old Testament.<\/li>\n<li>Reveal to us who He is and what He is really like.<\/li>\n<li>To unveil what our Heavenly Father is really like.<\/li>\n<li>To demonstrate His love to us and for us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus the Son of Man \u201cGiven\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Jesus came into this world under very humble circumstances. Jesus also matured from childhood to a mature Son in order to <em>give <\/em>Himself away to humanity.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=2161\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2161\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2161\" src=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Growing-Up.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"665\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Growing-Up.jpg 900w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Growing-Up-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Growing-Up-768x567.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Jesus-Growing-Up-365x270.jpg 365w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>And Jesus <strong>grew <\/strong>(matured) in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. <\/em><strong style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Luke 2:52 New International Version<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jesus came as Son of Man to <em>give<\/em> us:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>His Abundant Life<\/strong> &#8211; We were all born dead in trespasses and sin.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His Love<\/strong> &#8211; We all have a deep need to be loved and accepted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His Grace<\/strong> &#8211; To empower and strengthen us through difficulties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His Truth<\/strong> &#8211; We have been deceived by the world and the evil one and all we know is lies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His Light<\/strong> &#8211; We live in a dark and blinding world and we can\u2019t see where we are going without Him.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Himself <\/strong>&#8211; He is the Fullness of God who longs to <em>live<\/em> and <em>breathe<\/em> His Divine Life every moment of the day through us. He came to <strong>BE the Great I AM<\/strong> <em>within us<\/em>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus the Son of God<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only was Jesus called the \u201cSon of Man\u201d a title used to depict His humanity. He identified with our human weaknesses and frailties as He lived in an earthly body. He was also called the \u201cSon of God,\u201d depicting His Divinity and Unity with the Triune Godhead <em>(Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus came as a Son of God to <em>give<\/em> us:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Authority over the power of sin, flesh, and the evil one in our lives.<\/li>\n<li>Freedom from every chain that holds us captive.<\/li>\n<li>Healing of our wounds and broken hearts.<\/li>\n<li>Restoration of our Oneness with our Father and the Holy Spirit.<\/li>\n<li>The removal of all the walls that separate us from our God and each other.<\/li>\n<li>Fulfillment of all the promises He made to His Father.<\/li>\n<li>Give Himself as a ransom to redeem all of humanity to Himself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hispreciousgift.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Cross-2-1-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2172\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This Christmas season may you always remember the Gift our Father <em>gave<\/em> to us, Jesus Christ. As a baby, He wore strips of torn cloth (<em>swaddling clothes<\/em>). \u00a0Yet, underneath those clothes was the <strong>King of Glory adorned in a Robe of Righteousness <\/strong>to cover our sins and restore us to ROYALTY.
