There is a great debate going on in the Body of Christ right now concerning whether we should keep the 10 Commandments or not.

In fact, if we decide to keep the 10 Commandments, then we must keep all 613 laws given to Moses.  To find out more about the other 603 commandments read Exodus Chapters 21-24; 31-35<\/strong>.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In James 2:10<\/strong>, \u201cFor whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.\u201d <\/em>He goes on to quote from the 10 of the 613 commandments given to Moses. The truth is, man couldn\u2019t keep the 613 laws of God. The Law was given to the Jews, not the Gentiles<\/em>, to show man his sin and to show man just how weak he was in his own efforts trying to please God. We can\u2019t please God and fulfill all of His laws\u2026 impossible! <\/strong>Just read the accounts of every man or woman in the Bible and tell me which one totally and completely obeyed God in everything? Just one\u2026 Jesus!! Jesus Christ was the ONLY Son the Father said before He had ever done anything, \u201cThis is My Son in Whom I am Well-Pleased, Hear Him!\u201d Matthew 17:5<\/strong>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hebrews 1:1 <\/strong>– God, having spoken to the fathers long ago<\/strong> in [the voices and writings of] the prophets in many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the truth], and in many ways,

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 <\/sup><\/strong>has in these last days spoken [with finality]<\/strong> to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus]<\/strong>, whom He appointed heir and<\/em> lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum].

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 <\/sup><\/strong>The Son is the radiance and<\/em> only expression of the glory of [our awesome] God [reflecting God\u2019s Shekinah glory, the Light-being, the brilliant light of the divine], and the exact representation and<\/em> perfect imprint of His [Father\u2019s] essence.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n


HE IS<\/strong> upholding and<\/em> maintaining and<\/em> propelling ALL things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal].

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Father spoke to Moses and the prophets in years gone by. He has given His FINAL WORDS TO US IN CHRIST. Our Father said, \u201cHear Him!\u201d<\/strong> Don\u2019t you want to hear what Jesus has to say about the 613 commandments of Moses, including the 10?

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Book of Matthew, a question came to Jesus by a lawyer, an expert in the Mosaic Law. He asked Jesus about which one of the 613 commandments were the greatest and He replied in Matthew 22:37<\/strong>, \u201cYou shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your mind. THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREATEST COMMANDMENT.\u201d <\/em>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus continued, \u201cYou shall love your neighbors as much as you love yourself.\u201d<\/em> But Jesus did not end there, He said something very interesting in verse 40. \u201cWith these two commandments (of the Mosaic Law) HANG ALL THE OTHER LAWS OF THE PROPHETS ON THEM<\/em>.\u201d Can you see how this would make the lawyer, the Pharisees, and the religious people angry with Jesus? They had spent all of their lives struggling in their own efforts to keep the 613 laws, then Jesus said, in other words, \u201cBoys that\u2019s fine and dandy, Father is giving you a break and will make your life simple. Just keep these two and all the other laws are summed up in these two.”\u00a0 Jesus was trying to say:

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you would let me live and love through you because I know how to love Our Father and others as<\/g> myself. When we love Our Father with My love, we won\u2019t put other gods before Him or create idols of work, things, and people to worship them. Also, we won\u2019t kill, steal, covet, and commit adultery with our neighbor, because we love them, right?\u201d \u201cHerein, the 10 Commandments are fulfilled.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few other scriptures from the Amplified Bible, confirming the heart of our Lord:

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 13:34<\/strong> – I am giving you a NEW<\/strong> commandment, that you Love One Another<\/strong>. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to Love One Another<\/strong>.


<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 15:12<\/strong> – This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly<\/strong> seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 5:17-18<\/strong> – Do not think that I came to do away with or<\/em> undo the Law [of Moses] or the [writings of the] Prophets; I did not come to destroy but to fulfill<\/strong>. 18 <\/sup><\/strong>For I assure you and<\/em> most solemnly say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke [of the pen] will pass from the Law until all things [which it foreshadows] are accomplished.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romans 13:8<\/strong> – Owe nothing to anyone except to love and seek the best for one another;<\/strong> for he who [unselfishly] loves his neighbor has fulfilled the [essence of the] law [relating to one\u2019s fellowman].

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul also shared the same sentiments as his Lord throughout the New Testament. In the city of Galatia, new Gentile believers were being converted to Christianity. But the Jews who were faithful to the Mosaic Law slipped in and were teaching them about following the laws of Moses along with faith in Christ. Paul was angry with the Gentile believers and called them foolish <\/em>and asked them who cast a spell on them (bewitched) <\/em>causing them to negate the grace<\/em> of God only found in Jesus Christ? They began following Jewish traditions and rituals attempting to please God in their own strength and effort.  Listen to what Paul said:

Galatians 2:16 <\/strong>– We are Jews by birth and not sinners from among the Gentiles;\u00a016\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>yet we know that a man is not\u00a0justified [and placed in right standing with God] by works of the Law, BUT [ONLY] through faith in [God\u2019s beloved Son,] Christ Jesus.<\/strong> And even we [as Jews] have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ<\/em> and not by works of the Law<\/strong>. By observing the Law, NO ONE WILL EVER BE JUSTIFIED <\/strong>[declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty].

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please read the book of Galatians and Hebrews which sum up the purpose of the Law of Moses and how all of those Laws were fulfilled through us who believe in, depend on, and yield to the Glorious Life of Christ within us<\/strong>.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mosaic Laws, all 613, including the 10 Commandments were all FULFILLED IN CHRIST. Jesus said, there is no love greater than this than one is willing to lay down his life for his friends\u2026 Jesus proved His love to us and for us.  <\/strong>

Galatians 5:13 – 14 <\/strong>– For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become<\/em> an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and<\/em> seek the best for one another. 14 <\/sup><\/strong>For the WHOLE LAW [concerning human relationships] is FULFILLED in one precept, \u201cYou shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
